MT: Woman Drives off Assailant with Gunfire

BILLINGS - A 39-year-old Billings woman fired two shots at an assailant just moments after he knocked her to the ground Tuesday night.

Billings police, fire, and AMR responded to 54 Van Buren Street on the South Side of Billings just before 11 p.m.

Police Sgt. Pat Curry said the woman walked outside of her home to grab her purse from her vehicle. She told police she heard a noise and pulled her .380-caliber handgun from her purse.
